Type II is a commercial wallcovering classification defined by federal specification CCC-W-408D. It requires a minimum weight of 13 ounces per linear yard and must pass specific tests for abrasion resistance, tear strength, stain resistance, and colorfastness. All of our commercial wallcoverings meet or exceed Type II requirements, making them suitable for high-traffic environments including hotels, offices, healthcare facilities, and retail spaces.
What fire rating certifications does this wallcovering have?
Our commercial wallcoverings carry Class A fire rating under ASTM E84 (Surface Burning Characteristics), which is comparable to UL 723 and NFPA 255. This is the highest fire safety classification for interior wall finishes. Do you offer PVC-free commercial wallcovering?
Yes. Every pattern in our commercial collection is available in both Type II vinyl and a PVC-free alternative. Our PVC-free wallcoverings meet the same Type II performance standards for durability and fire safety while eliminating PVC from the product. They are FSC Certified, UL ECOLOGO Certified, and GREENGUARD GOLD Certified for low VOC emissions — ideal for LEED, WELL, and other green building projects.

What are the lead times for commercial wallcovering orders?
Our commercial wallcoverings are printed to order. Standard production time is approximately 2–3 weeks from order confirmation, with shipping time additional based on your location. Rush production may be available for time-sensitive projects — contact us at sales@poppyprintstudio.com with your deadline and we will confirm availability. We recommend ordering samples and finalizing selections early in your project timeline.
How is commercial wallcovering installed?
Our commercial wallcoverings use an overlap-and-double-cut installation method, which is standard for Type II products. The material is sold by the linear yard in widths of 50 inches plus 1 inch overlap (51 inches total), produced in continuous bolts up to 45 yards. Professional installation by a certified wallcovering installer is required. We include installation guidelines with every order and can connect you with recommended installers in your area.
